Be careful, some Dell Minis are hardware limited to 1 Gig RAM, though  
I think the Mini 10 is OK.

MS requires the 1 Gig limit to 'earn' a discounted O/S license (WinXP  
or Win7 Starter), and some Mfgs. took it to heart, others left some  
room for after -market upgrades.

I only threw the Acer out there as a netbook alternative, not a  
hackintosh option (being AMD-based, it would be hard/maybe impossible  
to do).

Dual-core AMD-based laptops are as low as $429 (again, at Best Buy)...
