a further 'advantage' - for the telcos, anyway - is that they have to
share their copper plant with clecs [if there are any left]. they
don't have to share their fiber.
sop around here when you get fios is they pull your copper loops and
reroute your phone svc via fiber, even if it's not part of your pkg.
take the customer prisoner...
