LSI 3080X is LSI 1068/1068E chipset.  I've had a number of those, 
variously branded Intel, HP, LSI.

They're primarily 'dumb' controllers that can pass disks directly to the 
OS.  No BBU, no on-board CPU, no relationship with the conventional 
megaRAID stuff.

As dumb controllers for software RAID, they're really nice.
