I would suggest lurking or asking on one of the illumos or openindiana
lists. I don't know the official names because I read them on gmane. But
there are constantly discussions on enterprise drives on many of those lists
by people who seem to really know what they're talking about and have a lot
of practical experience with budgets from home user to data center user.
