Heh. In 2001, I bought a mid-seventies, two group La Marzocco GS-2 off
eBay. For $600. Disassembled. At the time, I'd never seen the insides of
a commercial machine, much less one of that age.
It required a goodly bit of staring and headscratching, $300 in parts, and a
little fabrication to get it back together. Then I had to run a 220VAC
circuit to the bar....
In the end, the machine served up beautiful coffee, and did so for 11 years
with only an occasional group rebuild. Plus, it and my SGI Challenge L
heated the house.
