[geeks] LinkedIn is off the rails

Plenty.
I was on Linkedin for a number of years. I posted my company and title.
Every day I would get sales calls, and staffing companies, service
providers, you name it. It occured to me what is the value in Linkedin.
It was a gold mine for sales people. People would post their names,
companies, titles, etc. Any sales droid would look for the companies in
their reigon, and have at it. They knew that some list they bought would
have stale data. But if people are updating their employment even major
projects they are working on makes it pure money. Knowing who are
decision makers weeds out wasted calls. So I killed my Linkedin account.
Within a week the sales calls dropped off. Never again will I join
Linkedin to have the pleasure of being bombarded by cold calls, invites to
Webinars, or some other lame "cloud" offering.
