There are two folks interested in this box, I've powered it up, it seems
fine (though it just decided to warn about fan1 from LOM, no idea if it's a
problem).
System has a 440 MHz CPU, 1024M RAM, two 9.1G SCSI HDs and a functional
CD-ROM drive. I also have the rack rails to with the server...
I am in the process of installing Solaris 7 (most recent CD install image I
have), and once that completes I'll reach out to interested parties and see
where it will go.
Thanks everyone for your interest - we'll see what tomorrow brings!
On a related note, my Sunblade 1000 appears to be in good working order -
it has 2 900 MHz CPUs and 2 Gigs of RAM. On eBay I found a vendor offering
4 Gig upgrades for $30 each (set of 4x 1 Gig DIMMs) with free shipping, so
I ordered two sets for $50 (made offer) and I should have 8x extra 256M
DIMMs for SB1K available in a few days... Now I need to find some decent FC
drives for it, it has two older 33 Gig drives installed, but I want to keep
my eye out for something a bit more capacious.
(For those of you keeping score, that means I'm keeping TWO Sun systems,
the v240 and the SB1K - unless I uncover another interesting SPARC box in
my basement.)
Thanks,
Lionel
