i assume mouse meant 2x larger vs. 3x smaller, so that the stripes
were equal in size. in principle, mirroring 2 equal metadisks
shouldn't be a problem...
i don't know what disksuite would've done. it might've required a
priori that all disks be the same size. certainly if you try to
mirror unequals your result should be the size of the smaller.
likewise if you stripe across n disks you should get a volume size of
n * smallest. but these alone shouldn't ban mouse's example.
