I used to do that with a Cabletron Systems Ethernet switch which had
FDDI uplink ports. It did true bridgeing. Unfortunately it was 10 MBit/s
Ethernet only. Later I used an IBM RS/6000 43P-100 running NetBSD as a
router. I.e. I had separate subnets for FDDI and Ethernet.
