Hmm, this is probably not an ideal suggestion, but you could go the route
of running 10.8 or later on the iMac and then run Final Cut in a 10.6 VM.
With the improvements in hardware since it was released, I'd imagine
performance would be fairly decent. May be easier than trying to hack an
older OS release onto unsupported hardware...
