To be honest, if range isn't important (like line of sight, or other side of
the wall) and you don't have a preference over which band 2.4 or 5 GHz, a
cheap so-called 'travel router' should suffice.

These require a USB 'brick', which appears to be included. I've used them as
wifi clients for wired devices, they're fine for modest needs.
