We still have our LaserJet 4350dtn for mono-only jobs, and we bought a
Brother HL-L8250CDN when our Color Laserjet 3600 (?) shat the bed. Both
have been solid and are inexpensive to run.
A3 though? That's going to add a LOT of cost.
They CAN BE HAD, if you're willing to try to get a used one working, but
if you want it inexpensive you might have to settle for inkjet. For
example

About ten years back I bid $200 on a Color LaserJet ... 8500 I think?
Full stack, 11x17 color, bulk bin, duplexer, the works. I was the only
bidder. The seller hadn't banked on that and tried to weasel out, then
claimed they'd discovered when preparing it to ship that it wasn't
working but they JUST HAPPENED to have a DIFFERENT BUT IDENTICAL one
that I could have for only $1800 or some such bullshit ...
It ended with eBay canceling their account for fraud. But I'd rather
have had the printer.
