While not for the system in question, I thought I'd mention a tip regarding
the fairly recent PowerEdge R7415 and PERC H330 Mini, which can be placed
into HBA mode without any need to flash it. The steps are:
System Setup Main Menu
Device Settings -> Integrated RAID Controller 1: Dell PERC <PERC H330 Mini>
Configuration Utility
PERC H330 Mini Configuration Utility
Main Menu -> Configuration Management -> Clear Virtual Disk Configuration
Main Menu -> Controller Management -> Advanced Controller Management ->
Switch to HBA Mode
I've used this on a number of our in-production systems for ZFS in Linux
(Proxmox).
