For my purposes "under 2tb" is big enough.  I've got four "72G" SAS
drives (actually about 68G) and I'd like to put in one or more of some
"1TB" (931G) SATA drives I have on hand instead.

The Seagate drives are 10k RPM; for most of what I'm contemplating
using this machine for, I don't need that sort of speed (and SATA SSDs
would probably beat even the 10k spinning rust).

I'm unlikely to have the leisure to do anything with it for another day
or two, but when I do I'll have to try the SATA drives in it.
