I just received a nice case for the latest RPi 5 boards, and among its features are an NVMe SSD interface and a "smart" fan, great.
On the outside of the box there's an indication that an RPi RP2040 processor, and then in the product description they say it's used to manage the "smart" and "programmable" cooling fan and power.

Just interesting, to me anyway, that a case has an embedded processor.
