I went digging thoruogh my boxes of spare cards and found a Promise
Technology "SATA 300 TX2plus", which, if it actually works, should do
nicely: it's dual-voltage PCI and has one PATA and two SATA ports. (It
also has four LED connections and one mystery three-pin connector
labeled only "CN5", plus some unpopulated component footprints of
unclear intended use.) I'm fairly sure it used to work, but it's been
sitting idle for quite a while.
I _never_ buy ebay, nor do anything else involving real money "online".
But I do know someone who _does_ accept the risks invovled who might be
willing to proxy for me.
Yes, I'm in Ottawa.
Thank you; I'll sele if my friend can do anything useful with that.
The person I mentioned above is pretty good at finding hardware; I may
ask if he's willing to see if he can ferret something out.
