My take on this is any port is good, as long as its open source. OpenBSD,
FreeBSD, NetBSD, Linux. Often, the various OS borrow from each other.
Then, we choose which one we like best.
In the x86 world, I like Slackware Linux and I am getting comfortable with
FreeBSD. In the Sparc world, I like OpenBSD. Who knows what might work
best on my PA-RISC?
I think the most important thing is not to get into any religious wars in
a place like this.
