You've got to be kidding. I've always, ALWAYS been told that you DONT
unplug a live SCSI chain, EVER EVER. I've never had good results trying
to "hot-add" devices either... Sure, I've hot-swapped SCSI disks on things
like NetApps, but those boxes have a "swap mode" where they stop all SCSI
activity on the bus, you swap the drives, wait 10 seconds, it resets, then
re-scans the bus....
