[SunRescue] way offtopic: concrete stain!

Yall seem like an intelligent bunch of people.

Anybody here ever stained (on purpose) a concrete floor?

We ripped up all of our nasty old stained ruined carpet
from our living room, and now are debating what to do for
floor covering.  Whether to paint/stain/enamel the concrete
directly and use that, paint it and lay rugs down, do nothing
and put down wood plank flooring, or just have new carpet
installed... opinions?
