Basically, I went to compile apache 1.3.14 with php4 and mod_perl,
and found my perl installation on the sunhelp server was all blown
to hell from when I'd upgraded to 5.6.0 from 5.00503.  So, I ended
up just compiling apache+php4 (i've only got one thing that uses
mod_perl, so it can just fork() perl instead; saves me the hassle
of compiling mod_perl in statically), cleaning up the directory
layout, and rewriting the httpd.conf.  Everything is much faster
now. 8-)
