Neat.... for years I used a re-inker to do reel ribbons for old DECwriters
and tty40 chain printers. There was a company that made a little plastic
thing with a motor and a couple of reel spindles and a big sponge for ink.
It worked like a charm, but was a tad messy. TTY33's had a little sponge
cap that mounted alongside the ribbon and brushed against it to reink.
Most of those a gone, now, methinks. Since reel ribbons are beginning
to be a tad unobtainium, a reinker is the way to go for ribbon supply.
Anyone still make those things?
Bob
