Sorry, that paragraph is inconsistent with reality. I am able to boot
cdrom, All I need to know is what my new boot device is. I assume I can
make it any drive I like, but I need to know what to setenv.

The Symbios 8751SP is in PCI slot 2, drives are:

9G - id 0
9G - id 3
cd - id 4
