[rescue] Happy Holidays, everyone.

Hahaha... Seven years ago, I was just starting to work with a Novell
network (after having worked with Windows 3.1 and LANtastic), and my
boss said: "I got you Internet access, and you might want to look into
this Unix-like operating system called Linux..." I said: "Internet
access is great, but why would anyone want to learn Unix??"

It's always in retrospect that we realize just how *stoopid* we have
been, is it not?? At least I didn't start *too* late for that OS. I
compiled my first kernel with version 0.99 I think. That led into
Solaris, SCO, BSD, HP-UX and so on. Now I don't know why anyone would
*not* want to learn Unix. (I'm working on my 14-year-old daughter...
getting there...)

Now I are a administrator,too--of several Solaris boxen, and my little
stable of 12 or so Linux machines...

Time to give thanks for all the things that I *somehow* did right, among
which I definitely count joining this list! This has become very quickly
a source of all kinds of things that I think about and talk about. Most
everyone at work and at home knows about you folks in one way or
another.

Thanks, and I'm looking forward to lots more information, jokeas and
jibes...
