i suppose it all comes down to preference. i started on one of bill's old
(now defunct) sparcs (sparc 5 i think, the one he got from wargo) running
solaris, so i got used to solaris and its little quirks. i'm the type of
person to not like change of any kind so when i began on linux years ago
i didnt like the differences (commands, etc).

and there's gnome. i dont like gnome. that foot graphic annoys me.

i'm not against anyone else using it at all. i just prefer not to use
linux. :)


i guess its the same for most of the 'big argument topics'. i use vi
because thats what i was handed first. i got used to it so now i dont like any
other editor. i use either pine or mutt for mail, depending on the mail
account and what i do with it. i'm a believer in using what you like as
long as it works well for you and what you're doing.

this was a big part of why i began to despise linux. my sound card didnt
work. thats a big minus in my book. (i love music)
