One can still look for pin 1... it's usually labeled.. then just put the
striped side next to it. You can't go wrong. On drives, 99.5% of the
time pin one is next to the power connector. The only concern is the
motherboard.

There are, of course, thousands of people who claim to be sys admins who
have the single "skill" of working it out from a gui tool. Ask these people
