We've been using netatalk here for quite some time without any problems.
But.  If used on *some* Alpha's there could be a problem with the sizes displayed.  Kinda a PITA.
Only seems to effect Alpha's though.

x86/SGI/Sparc all seem to work very well with netatalk.  Try it out.  Very easy to setup.
