[rescue] How to "exercise" a drive in an Ultra 30?

So here's the deal - I got these two low-cost IBM 9 gig SCA SCSI drives
a while ago, and I wanted to put on one in my Ultra 30, so I did. Now
the drive is installed, but someone on the list mentioned that they had
problems with their IBM (for SGI) 9 Gig drives from HiTechCafe (like
mine), so I wanted to "exercise" the drives and see how they do in the
Ultra 30.
I went into the format command (under Solaris 8), and chose the "write"
test - it went fine. What should i do to see if there are any real
problems with the drives in a Sun workstation?
Any pointers are appreciated - but be warned, I do not have a "head" on
this server (yet - Mike N. made me a nice deal on a 2D Creator and
SunPCi card, Thanks Mike!), so any suggestions will have to be
accessible from the command line...
Thanks in advance,
Ken
