find yourself a nice little DEC alpha box.  small cheap low end ones go anywhere
from free to trivial amounts of cash.  also, keep your eyes open for a 
VAXstation 3100 or a VAXstation 4000 both nice machines.

if you're insane like me, get some big VAX 4000 boxes, not quite as large as
a 6000, and very fast.
