The F50 is a library machine, but it's not THE library machine (that's an
E5500). It's a leftover from a failed partnership with IBM Research, and
is the only AIX box we have (we're slowly becoming a Solaris and Linux
shop, with a bunch of NT clients I don't think about). I think that most
big libraries tend to run Solaris or MVS, while smaller ones run NT, but
I'm pretty sure that all of the big integrated library system vendors
support AIX, and you see a surprising amount of it, especially in big
consortial deals.
