That's because if one goes down you are screwed.  I on the other hand use
PC hardware for the critical stuff (so it can be replaced quickly and
cheaply), and my all work done on more exotic machines gets saved across
the network.  Thus, if exotic machine dies, I don't any work.  I just
might not be able to continue it until the machine is fixed.
