Consider an old Apple Powerbook, such as the original PB1x0 or Duo 2x0
series. They're not too heavy (the Duos are 4.2lb), have reasonable
screens, full sized keyboards, and replacement batteries are not hard to
come by. Best of all, they're cheap (Ebay rates are around $20-80 for
complete fully functional systems).
I love them for serial consoles. Load up System 6.0.8L and Zterm and
you're set, they boot up in a flash.
