[rescue] Pathetic TV shows and computers?

Jeez, get an old PC, have the code keep trying to ping the far-end of
each network line (far end = ISP end), when one is unreachable, draw a
graphic on the screen, ring a bell, establish a dial-up connection,
whatever...
Far from hard, more like "beneath" his abilities/interest I suspect...
