I know that some cards only work with later PROM revisions, like TurboGX
cards. I had a TurboGX card that refused to work with a couple IPXs I
had. Finally figured out it was because the PROM was like 2.3, and the
FEH says you need like 2.5 or later (Don't depend on these version numbers,
I'm really fuzzy on what it really was).
That and I think the SS1/1+ also have some slave-only sbus slots that can
work okay with some cards, but not others. (I think network cards
particularly don't like them).
