POWER (RIOS) shipped in 1989.  The first PowerPC system (the RS/6k model
250) shipped in late 1993.

Did you know that the original motivation for Microchannel was to provide
for a better S/3[79]0 expansion bus that could meet FCC code 16 regs for
interference?  It was slapped into the PS/2 systems as an afterthought.
