[rescue] Sun Ray 1 - Cards? Thoughts?

For various reasons I'm looking at picking up a couple
of SunRay 1 terminals--Weirdstuff.com has them NIB
for relatively cheap ($150) and they also show up on
eBay. I *guess* this is a rescue...sort of...
Anyone actually using these want to comment?
I think that I can come up with the server-side software
one way or another--we may buy Qty 1. from Sun
for our lab anyway and then add more at lower cost,
just so that we can get some basic support from
Sun for specific initial questions.
Particular things of interest:
1. If the "what personality do I have/who's logged
in" features are triggered by a smart card, where
does one obtain the cards in small quantities?
(I'm assuming that NIB units might come with
one card...or that they'll somehow work without
a card. In either case I'd need more cards soon.)
2. If I have a known-to-be-compatible smart card
already in my possession, any easy way to get
the station to start using that for its authentication/
authorization/personality?
3. Any other major likes/dislikes about 'em?
Thanks in advance--
