[rescue] Linux

I just bought a 433AU on 
ebay.

It won't arrive until late this week, when I'll be on the left coast 
visiting my daughter.  It was listed as "ALPHA PROCESSOR UNIX ,LINNUX ,NT4 
COMPATIBLE."  Now this thread has me worried that maybe the *processor* is 
compatible but the ROM isn't.  Can anyone set my Alpha-newbie mind at ease?
