That's a standard eBay "check here for this phrase".  That's actually the
default.  There's no way to customize this - you use what eBay gives you.
Note the "Other"...

Certified check = money order in loose terms.  Yes, I know it isn't.
However in modern colloquialisms, the two are practically equal.

As far as PayPal, maybe he changed his mind or forgot to add it to begin
with?  I've done similar...
