I would exect "unreactive" to mean that "it doesn't react", not that "it
can't _cause_ reactions in other materials".

When something corrodes, it itself reacts.

Platinum, when used as a catalyst, has to be hot, very hot, IIRC.
Perhaps so for gold too.  Platinum and gold are very "unreactive"
themselves.

Mechanical friction and the resulting wearing are not related to
chemical reactions and corrosion.  :-)
