I agree if you're talking about the "low-end" 15" monitors with the
membrane controls.  Yuck.

Weren't some of the older 16/17" monitors (GDM-1662 and such) Trinitrons
though?  Or are you saying that CURRENTLY Sony only makes 19", 21" and 23"?
