[rescue] AXPci smoked?

Once upon a time, I bought an axPCI board (they were cheap and abundant on
eBay then). It didn't face much action, though, since I hadn't got the proper
SIMMs. I did however get to watch the VGA BIOS as well as plaintive prompts on
the serial port. Now I get neither, not even when using ECC SIMMs from an
RS/6000. That is very distressing. I notice that the processor gets slightly
warm (but it's cooled by a fan in the front of the case), but the system
remains very dead. Since it was such a long time ago that I played with it,
could I have forgotten some really stupid little detail, or is it time to
scour eBay for a replacement?
