I dunno about the 19r models, but 19c models with v3.3.2 or even the
older v3.2.1 are more than happy to talk to XFS or use any of the font
formats used by X11R6 native servers.
I just set my font path to:
tcp/xfs-server.weird.com:7100,built-ins
I use the same font server for my NetBSD diskless sparcstations.
Those versions can also NFS-mount /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts, or even TFTP
them I think. Getting the NFS to work with a *BSD server was a bit of a
pain though as it's rather hard to debug and to get the correct
configuration.
