I also have a /dev/bpp0.  However, prtconf says that SUNW,bpp, instance #0 has
no driver attached either.

I don't know.  I'm wondering if not getting the driver attached has something 
to do with it.  Also, maybe I need to install the SUNWstc package, which I
can't find (but it's supposed to be included post version 2.4).
