Sure, I can download OpenOffice, install it, (on a machine running X) then
download the file, open it, and then save it into a comma-delimited text
file, so that I can use it on a machine where I need it ( Like a firewall or
something).
Or, they could have simply published it as a comma delimited file in the
first place. One that can not only be opened by Excel like a spreadsheet,
but which the rest of the world's programs could access and manipulate
(mangle) to create useful data.
