i find this funny though.  i called oracle a couple months ago asking about a
hobbyist/developer licensed version of Oracle 7 for OpenVMS/VAX (the last
version with VAX support from what i can tell) and the lady pretended that
there were no such machines with the name VAX and Oracle *NEVER* made a version
7 or their software.  8i was old hat and 9 was news.

this rules bigtime however.  i'd LOVE to run a DB on my pair of VAX 6000
machines (a 6640 and a 6650)
