Heck, I've seen mice from that era with a STEEL BALL. It was so darn
heavy to move, it caused pains in my shoulder. The good thing about it
was that I got the chance to hate the whole machine. (braindamaged
castrated peecee-like CNC-programming-thing)
Used it for a couple of weeks in school. Never ever touched that thing
again.

I prefer the ones that ship with new SGI-equipment. I suppose every
manufacturer use Logitech mice now, since they all look the same.

Mouse systems (the type-4 mouse on Sun) is a pain. I have both the
optomechanical and the optical type-5 Sun mouse here, but I usually just
use the optomechanical. (I don't have the correct type-5 mousepad)

I have this IBM MO18B mouse at this machine, and it feels good in the
palm of your hand, until you try to use the third button and try
scrolling with it. The third button is located on the left side of
button1, right where you have the thumb. Bizarre. The Scrollfunction is
somewhat braindead. They got the idea from their Thinkpad "point-pin"...
an button-like thingy which sense up/down-direction. It's a pain to use.

It's just sad that cordless mice are so heavy. I prefer VERY LIGHT mice,
but running cordless would be solving many problems on my desk.
