BMW is late as always...

SAAB did that thing 8 years ago in production cars.
One coil per plug - it is really a special plug
with its own coil. Over the connectors is a cover
- you remove a bunch of screws and lift the cover and
the connectors releases. NO risk of getting the 
wrong ignition series
