I thought we were trying to encourage the image of us as geeks. After
all we are on the geeks list (whoops, quick header check reveals we
are on rescue. Close enough).
Anyway, a guy I know on campus ran a lan party a few years ago, and in
addition to all the games, joysticks, hats, etc supplied by companies,
3COM donated (for him to keep, not as a loan) a pair of 16 or 24
(forget which) port mangaged 100mbit ethernet switches. This was back
when such switchs were still very big money.
