Not a lot of ipf out there on OpenBSD these days, except for people who
run older releases of OpenBSD. ipf was dropped ages ago.
That said, yes, I've build a couple of firewalls with a caching
nameserver on them. But not on sparc hardware (PeeCee). Most of my
SS2's need NVRAM, and all of them need RJ45 transceivers so I haven't
done anything with them yet. Dunno what to expect. Though if this is
for a business, I'd probably try using a sun4m box from the getgo.
sun4c isn't getting much love from the *BSD or Linux guys anymore so
you'll be stuck with older buggy distros complete with any security
holes that have been found since their release and not patched before
EOL.
