Good.  Then it actually is booting the OS (or trying, anyway).

Well, there is actually a difference.  The unused pair of leads in the
MiniDIN-6 connector are used to drive a speaker in the RS/6000 keyboard.
Other than that, they are identical.

There is one problem, however.  AIX < 4 will not support a PS/2 keyboard.
AIX >= 4 has no problem with a PS/2 keyboard.

You don't have to use smit.  Smit is just a front end to all the
configuration commandline utils.
