Not as dangerous, but I was programming z80s in octal machine code by
the time I was 8. My three year old daughter is just about
consequence-conscious enough to get her first ball-peen hammer, meaning
she gets to decide what to use it on. I am all in favor of letting kids
use proper tools at early ages, I think it ranks right up with reading
to them for intellectual development.
